Will Hillary run again? Newsom, Barr, and more… | |||||

Today is September 7. Below are some of the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room. 1 – Hillary Clinton reveals if she’ll make another bid for the White House after two previous failed attempts There has been growing political chatter over whether Clinton, who continues to be outspoken on current events and is now promoting her new “Gutsy” docuseries on Apple TV+, would seek a third White House bid as Democrats continue mulling if President Biden should seek re-election in 2024. But the former first lady appeared to put the issue to bed. “Would you ever run for president again?” CBS anchor Norah O’Donnell asked. “No, no,” Clinton responded. “But I’m gonna do everything I can to make sure that we have a president who respects our democracy and the rule of law and upholds our institutions.” “What if Donald Trump runs again?” O’Donnell followed. “He should be soundly defeated,” Clinton said. “It should start in the Republican Party – grow a backbone! Stand up to this guy! And heaven forbid if he gets the nomination, he needs to be defeated roundly and sent back to Mar-a-Lago.” MY TAKE: Here’s a bit of news for you, Hillary. It’s not up to YOU to decide who our president is… it’s up to the AMERICAN PEOPLE! We sent YOU back to Chappaqua – now just STAY there! 2 – Newsom pleads for residents to conserve energy as San Francisco sees record heat The temperature in Livermore, an area in the eastern part of the Bay Area, reached a temperature of 116 degrees, an all-time record, according to the National Weather Service. The heat wave is pushing California’s power grid to the brink, resulting in many Californian officials, including Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), asking residents to limit their energy use. “This heat wave is on track to be the hottest and the longest on record for this state and many parts of the West for the month of September. Californians, you’ve stepped up in a big way to keep the lights on so far. But we’re heading into the worst part of this heat wave, and the risk for outages is real and its immediate,” the California governor said in a video posted to his Twitter account. “These triple-digit temperatures throughout much of our state are leading, not surprisingly, to record demand on the energy grid. Everyone has to do their part to help step up for just a few more days.” MY TAKE: California is starting to look and sound just like China. 3 – Barr calls special master ruling on Mar-a-Lago documents ‘deeply flawed’ Barr told Fox News host Martha MacCallum that he doesn’t believe the special master ruling will change the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) case against Trump. “The opinion was wrong, and I think the government should appeal it,” Barr said, noting that process could take several months to resolve. “It’s deeply flawed in a number of ways. I don’t think the appointment of a special master is going to hold up, but even if it does, I don’t see it fundamentally changing the trajectory” of the case, he added. MY TAKE: Barr is desperately trying to stay relevant, and it’s pathetic. 4 – Illegal Alien Accused of Threatening Texas High School: ‘You’re Next’ Kevin Resendiz, a 32-year-old illegal alien, was arrested this week by the Archer County Sheriff’s Office after allegedly posting on Facebook threats against Windthorst High School. Resendiz has been charged with making terroristic threats. According to an affidavit, reviewed by local media, Resendiz made the threats on a Facebook page operated by him under the name “Kevin Magne.” The threat was allegedly posted in Spanish and read “screaming mad s*** to God and he was nothing to the devil” followed by “Here I come Windthorst Academy. You’re next.” Police allege that Resendiz quickly deleted the Facebook post and the account. A number of individuals with knowledge of Resendiz told police that the suspect was capable of a mass shooting citing his prior threatening Facebook posts and mental state. The high school as well as law enforcement in the area responded to the threat as a result. Resendiz, who attended Windthorst High School, remains in the Archer County Jail on a $1.5 million bond and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) placed a detainer on him so that if he is released from local custody at any time, he could be taken into ICE custody for arrest and deportation.
MY TAKE: This is what open borders gives us. 5 – Grown man ‘steals baseball from little girl’ during MLB game The heartless moment occurred while Nationals right fielder Joey Meneses threw a ball into the stands between innings. Now-viral footage filmed by the girls’ mom shows the man leaning his glove over a group of young girls, where her daughter had her own glove outstretched, snatching the ball away. MY TAKE: He just missed a perfect opportunity to be a gentleman. Major fail. |
