Today is September 12. Below are some of the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room.

1 – Border sheriffs slam Dem mayor after sanctuary city declares emergency over migrant buses
Fox News reports: Sheriffs dealing with the crisis at the southern border are taking aim at Washington, D.C., for declaring a public emergency over the migrants that have been bused into the sanctuary city by Texas and Arizona — and bristling at claims that the buses have turned D.C. into a “border town.”

“They have seen nothing. They are not a border town. They don’t know what a border town is,” Goliad County, Texas, Sheriff Roy Boyd told Fox News Digital.

Mayor Muriel Bowser on Thursday declared a public emergency over the migrant buses which have been coming to D.C. from Texas and Arizona since April. She said the move would allow the city to create an Office of Migrant Services to provide migrants with accommodation, health care, transportation and other services.

She is one of a number of liberal mayors and officials of self-proclaimed “sanctuary cities” who have sounded the alarm over the influx of migrants — which represent just a fraction of those encountered at the border. A D.C. councilmember sparked pushback when she declared that “in many ways, the governors of Texas and Arizona have turned us into a border town,”

“I think it’s all a bunch of political grandstanding, trying to get themselves some attention and squeeze a little bit of money out of the federal government or somewhere else that they can use for whatever they think it’s needed for,” Boyd said. “If they want to see what it looks like. They can come down here for us. It’s being shoved on us by the federal government and their policies and their lack of enforcement.”

“‘Welcome to our world’ is what they say,” Jonathan Thompson, executive director and CEO of the National Sheriffs’ Association told Fox News Digital. “Welcome to the everyday problems we are facing, and you have been ignoring and that you continue to want to blame someone else for.”

MY TAKE: Abbott needs to ramp it up a few notches, so these sanctuary cities find out what it REALLY feels like to be a border town.

2 – Dem Sen. Warner: U.S. Domestic Threats Greater than Terrorism
Breitbart reports: Senate Intelligence Committee chairman Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) said Sunday on CBS “Face the Nation” that domestic threats the United States is facing are worse than international terrorism threats.

Partial transcript as follows:

MARGARET BRENNAN: You know, 9/11 introduced to many Americans for the very first time, this sense of vulnerability at home, and it launched the global war on terror. I wonder how vulnerable you think America is now, are we paying enough attention to the Middle East and to Afghanistan?

WARNER: Well, Margaret, I remember, as most Americans do, where they were on 9/11. I was in the middle of a political campaign and suddenly, the differences with my opponent seem very small in comparison and our country came together. And in many ways, we defeated the terrorists because of the resilience of the American public because of our intelligence community, and we are safer, better prepared. The stunning thing to me is here we are 20 years later, and the attack on the symbol of our democracy was not coming from terrorists, but it came from literally insurgents attacking the Capitol on January 6th. So I believe we are stronger. I believe our intelligence community has performed remarkably. I think the threat of terror has diminished. I think we still have new challenges in terms of nation-state challenges, Russia in longer-term, a technology competition with China. But I do worry about some of the activity in this country where the election deniers, the insurgency that took place on January 6th, that is something I hope we could see that same kind of unity of spirit.

WATCH THIS:

MY TAKE: Did you see the SICK way they flipped a segment paying tribute to 9/11 into claiming that MAGA Republicans are the new terrorists and spewing about the documents seized from Trump?   If you didn’t watch, you’ve got to see it.  Absolutely APPALLING!!

3 – Payments giants to apply new code identifying sales at U.S. gun stores
CNBC reports: Visa, the world’s largest payments processor, said on Saturday it will implement a new merchant category code for U.S. gun retailers, which will identify transactions at firearms stores.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) approved creation of the merchant code on Friday following pressure from gun-control activists who say it will help track suspicious weapons purchases.

“Following ISO’s decision to establish a new merchant category code, Visa will proceed with next steps, while ensuring we protect all legal commerce on the Visa network in accordance with our long-standing rules,” Visa said in a statement.

Mastercard said on Friday that following ISO’s approval, “we now turn our focus to how it will be implemented by merchants and their banks as we continue to support lawful purchases on our network while protecting the privacy and decisions of individual cardholders.”

American Express said when ISO develops a new code, the company will work with third-party processors and partners on implementation.

The code will show where an individual spends money but not what items were purchased.

MY TAKE: If they can control how you spend your money, they can control anything.

4 – Surgeon Using Social Media To Promote Sex Change Procedures To Teens
The Daily Caller reports: Dr. Sidhbh Gallagher, a Miami-based plastic surgeon, advertises the “gender-affirming” surgeries she performs on adolescents on the youth-dominated social media app TikTok, a Daily Caller News Foundation review found.

Gallagher’s TikTok profile contains hundreds of videos about transgender-related surgeries she performs, some of which include photos or videos of her young patients showing off mastectomy scars. Her videos are part of the pro-medicalization, transgender-affirming trend encouraging young people on social media to pursue biomedical interventions.

Gallagher’s website doesn’t list age restrictions on its gender affirmation page and instead states that “it may well be much more detrimental to the patient to wait until the age of 18 for surgery,” although she says “feminizing bottom surgery” candidates should generally be over 18 in one video.

Many of her videos answer questions from potential surgery patients, including how to initiate the process, how to prepare for surgery, whether to keep or remove their nipples following a mastectomy and how fake testicles are made during genital surgery. The videos mostly focus on double mastectomies, which she jokingly calls “the teet yeet,” and most of the patients she shares photos of on Facebook appear to be teenagers; she captioned a photograph of a middle-aged patient, a rarity among her posts, “proving age is just a number.”

MY TAKE: Absolutely no words – despicable that this is even allowed on social media!! They’re literally recruiting kids to this sickness.

5 – Middle school student arrested for bringing fentanyl to school, causing employee to overdose
Fox News reports: A 13-year-old California middle school student was arrested after bringing fentanyl to school that caused a school supervisor to suffer an overdose.

The Bakersfield Police Department responded to Chipman Junior High School Friday after the school reported that a student was in possession of about 150 fentanyl pills disguised as Percocet, according to KGET.

The pills were discovered after a search was conducted on the student in an unrelated altercation with another student, leading to a school supervisor to discover the pills and inadvertently overdose, according to BPD. Police say the supervisor did not ingest the pills, but opened the pill bottle to check it and was exposed due to them being an “inhalation hazard.”

A Kern High School police officer administered Narcan to the supervisor, who was then transferred to a local hospital for treatment and was listed in stable condition.

Police say the student in possession of the fentanyl pills disguised as Percocet also had about $300 on his person, though they could not immediately say if any of the pills were sold or given to another student.

MY TAKE: And this is why we need to CLOSE THE BORDER.
