DeSantis makes bold move, Hunter cries poverty, Sen. Paul owns Fauci, and more…
By Anneta Griffee

Today is September 15. Below are some of the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room.

1 – DeSantis flying illegal immigrants to swanky hideaway for the rich and famous
Fox News reports: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis followed through on his promise to drop off illegal immigrants in progressive states, sending two planes full of migrants to Martha’s Vineyard on Wednesday.

A video provided to Fox News Digital shows the migrants deboarding the planes at Martha’s Vineyard Airport in Massachusetts.

“Yes, Florida can confirm the two planes with illegal immigrants that arrived in Martha’s Vineyard today were part of the state’s relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations,” the governor’s communications director, Taryn Fenske, told Fox News Digital.

“States like Massachusetts, New York and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as ‘sanctuary states’ and support for the Biden administration’s open border policies,” she said.

MY TAKE: Brilliant!!  Every governor needs to follow DeSantis’ example!

2 – Hunter Biden cries poverty in trying to slash support to mother of love child
The New York Post reports: Hunter Biden is trying to get his child support payments for his 4-year-old love child lowered by claiming a substantial change to his “financial circumstances,” according to court documents.

President Biden’s son, 52, has asked an Arkansas judge to recalculate the child support payments he makes to Lunden Roberts, 31 — the mother of the daughter he’s never met, according to a Monday court filing obtained by the Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette.

Hunter cited “a substantial material change” in his “financial circumstances, including but not limited to his income” for the reason behind his request.

It wasn’t immediately clear what the change in Hunter’s income was.

MY TAKE: How pathetic can this guy get?

3 – Harvard Tells Students: ‘Using Wrong Pronouns’ Constitutes ‘Abuse’
The Washington Free Beacon reports: Welcome to Harvard!

“Fatphobia” and “cisheterosexism” perpetuate “violence.” “Using the wrong pronouns” constitutes “abuse.” And “any words used to lower a person’s self-worth” are “Verbal Abuse.” Those are just a handful of the things the school told all undergraduate students in a mandatory Title IX training session, according to materials reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon.

The online training, which all undergraduates were required to complete in order to enroll in courses, includes a “Power and Control Wheel” to help students identify “harmful” conduct. Outside the wheel are attitudes that “contribute to an environment that perpetuates violence,” a voiceover from the training states, including “sizeism and fatphobia,” “cisheterosexism,” “racism,” “transphobia,” “ageism,” and “ableism.”

Inside the wheel are behaviors that the school says constitute “abuse” and could violate its Title IX policies. “We all have an essential role to play in creating a community that cultivates gender equity and inclusion,” Harvard College dean Rakesh Khurana told students in a video introducing the training. “Completing this course is a critical step in establishing a shared understanding of the values here at Harvard College.”

MY TAKE: Just can’t make this stuff up, folks.  Woke liberals are going totally bonkers!

4 – Country should brace for economic ‘disaster’ if rail strike moves forward, manufacturer group warns
The New York Post reports: Amtrak announced that all long-distance passenger trains have been canceled ahead of a looming freight rail worker strike. While Amtrak workers are not involved in the ongoing labor dispute, over 21,000 of track miles outside of the northeast corridor — Boston to Washington D.C. — are owned and maintained by freight companies.

Members of one railroad workers union rejected a tentative deal with the country’s largest railroad companies on Wednesday, which include Union Pacific, Berkshire Hathaway’s and Norfolk Southern. Two unions ratified agreements and three others are holding out at the bargaining table ahead of Friday — when union members are legally allowed to strike per federal guidelines.

Amtrak announced the additional cancellations of Wednesday after it canceled 10 long-distance trains earlier this week. The trains to be canceled on Thursday are the Auto Train (Washington to Sanford, Florida), Capitol Limited (Washington to Pittsburgh), Cardinal (Washington to Chicago) and the Palmetto (south of Washington to Savannah, Georgia).

Fox News reports: A freight railroad strike will have “devastating” consequences for the US. economy and will significantly set back any progress made in the past year to curb U.S. inflation rates, the president and CEO of the National Association of Manufacturers warned on Wednesday.

“If this goes south and we see a strike, it could be devastating for manufacturers, it could be devastating for consumers,” Jay Timmons told Fox News, stressing that “we just need to see this thing get done.”

Timmons said the country should brace for a “potential disaster” if a deal is not reached by Friday’s deadline. Timmons said businesses that rely on railroads to deliver their goods should start planning for supply chain interruptions.

“You mentioned all kinds of commodities that move by rail. Here is one to think about: chlorine. We have already got members… reporting that they are having halts to shipments,” he said. “One of those is chlorine. You cannot risk the fact that chlorine might be sitting out there unattended. What does that mean for drinking water all across this country? Do we want boil alerts everywhere across the country like we see in Flint, Michigan and down in Jackson, Mississippi?”

MY TAKE: Welcome to Joe Biden’s America.

5 – Paul clashes with Fauci over child vaccinations
The Hill reports: Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) on Wednesday clashed with White House medical adviser Anthony Fauci about whether children who were previously infected with COVID-19 need to be vaccinated, the latest in his long-running feud with the nation’s top infectious diseases doctor.

During a Senate hearing about the administration’s response to monkeypox, Paul played a clip of Fauci on C-SPAN in 2004. In the clip, Fauci told someone who was infected with the flu they did not need a flu shot.

If she got the flu for 14 days, she’s as protected as anybody can be because the best vaccination is to get infected yourself,” Fauci said in the video.

Paul then pressed Fauci on why his comments about COVID-19 differed from what he said about the flu, and why he recommended parents vaccinate their children even if they’ve previously been infected with the coronavirus.

“What you’re doing is denying the very fundamental premise of immunology that previous infection does provide some sort of immunity,” Paul said. “People decry vaccine hesitancy — it’s coming from the gobbledygook you give us. You’re not paying attention to the science.”

MY TAKE: “Fauci tried to use the corporate media to defend himself, but words don’t lie!”
