Today is September 23. Below are some of the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room.

1. Trump drops new hints on possible 2024 presidential run: ‘We were so close’
Fox News— Former President Donald Trump on Thursday hinted at a 2024 presidential run in a wide-ranging interview on “Hannity,” where he addressed his storied relationship with the media, his prior successes in office and why he believes the country will “not survive” under President Biden’s leadership.

Trump repeatedly teased his own 2024 run throughout the exclusive interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, touting a number of foreign policy successes during his presidency and outlining future policy positions that he would support if he chose to seek office again.

“Look, I want to see great leadership in this country, more important than Republican, or Democrat, or liberal, or conservative,” Trump said. “Our country is going to hell. We are a nation in decline.”

While Trump did not confirm 2024 speculation due to legal ramifications, he did not deny the possibility of another run.

“I love the country and we were so close,” he told Hannity. “Before COVID came in we had a country like never in history.”

MY TAKE: Liberal heads are spinning! They want him in cuffs. Keep dreaming. MAGA!

2. Venezuelans Expected To Flood US Border Due To A ‘Perception’ They Can Stay Indefinitely, Internal DHS Report Says

Daily Caller— The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) sounded the alarm over a potential surge in Venezuelans illegally crossing into the U.S. due to an incorrect understanding of U.S. immigration policy, according to an internal memo obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The recent alert mentioned a number of reasons that Venezuelans are increasingly coming to the U.S., including political changes, new visa requirements, a lack of resources due to the COVID-19 pandemic and poor economic conditions in Latin American countries they’ve fled to. There’s a possibility that many are also coming because of the protections for Venezuelans already in the U.S.

“Deteriorating opportunities for Venezuelans in Latin America coupled with changing immigration policies will likely increase Venezuelans’ decision to travel to the U.S. southwest border (SWB) via the Darien Gap and Mexico,” the memo stated. “Venezuelans may also be pulled to the United States by the perception that once they reach the border, they have a greater chance of remaining in the United States, based on a misunderstood perception of temporary protected status.”

“An exodus from these two countries alone would be a major concern as it could potentially signal larger waves of Venezuelan migrants to emigrate to the United States,” the memo said.

MY TAKE: Trump nailed it: This country is dissolving under Biden. CLOSE THE BORDER.

3. Barrett sides with liberal justices in opposition to halted Alabama execution

Washington Examiner— Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett sided with high court’s three liberal justices on Thursday in dissenting a decision to allow the execution of an Alabama inmate, but the state called off the execution at the last minute.

Alabama prison officials said that they could not access inmate Alan Eugene Miller’s veins before a midnight deadline, and so the execution could not be performed. Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey (R) said that Miller’s execution will be rescheduled at the “earliest opportunity,” according to WVTM 13.

In a 5-4 vote prior to halted procedure, the Supreme Court ruled that the execution of Miller could move forward, lifting a lower court’s injunction that had blocked his death by lethal injection. Barrett joined Justices Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor, and Ketanji Brown Jackson in dissent.

Miller, 57, was convicted of murdering three people in a 1999 workplace shooting.

MY TAKE: Uhg. I need more coffee.

4. Air Force Academy promotes fellowship that bans ‘cisgender’ men: ‘This program isn’t for you’

Fox News— The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Colorado is encouraging cadets to apply for a fellowship program for “gender minorities” that specifies “cisgender” men need not apply.

The academy sent an email on Sept. 14 informing cadets that the 2023 application for the Brooke Owens Fellowship for “undergraduate women and gender minorities interested in aerospace” is due by Oct. 10.

The application on the fellowship’s website says, “If you are a cisgender woman, a transgender woman, non-binary, agender, bigender, two-spirit, demigender, genderfluid, genderqueer, or another form of gender minority, this program is for you,” the application states. “If you are a cisgender man, this program isn’t for you… but we encourage you to check out our spinoff programs, the Patti Grace Smith Fellowship and the Matthew Isakowitz Fellowship Program.”

MY TAKE: This is NOT your father’s military! We are mucking around with gender and labels while our enemies laugh. Imagine if the same email went out declaring a fellowship for only cisgender men, others need not apply, take a look at a spinoff instead. Heads would EXPLODE!

5. 4.4M Americans roll up sleeves for omicron-targeted boosters

AP News— U.S. health officials say 4.4 million Americans have rolled up their sleeves for the updated COVID-19 booster shot. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention posted the count Thursday as public health experts bemoaned President Joe Biden’s recent remark that “the pandemic is over.”

The White House said more than 5 million people received the new boosters by its own estimate that accounts for reporting lags in states. Health experts said it is too early to predict whether demand would match up with the 171 million doses of the new boosters the U.S. ordered for the fall.

“No one would go looking at our flu shot uptake at this point and be like, ‘Oh, what a disaster,’” said Dr. David Dowdy, an infectious disease epidemiologist at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. “If we start to see a large uptick in cases, I think we’re going to see a lot of people getting the (new COVID) vaccine.”

MY TAKE: Won’t be me! Whether you’re getting the jab or not, you need to boost your immune system. But if you want to do it with DML CBD’s popular gummies under the current promotion, you’d better hurry. Here’s a message from DML CBD:
